The things we get asked most.
Six groups, plain answers. If the answer you need is not here, call (305) 782-7587 and ask a person.
General
Who are you?
RTA Cabinets Plus is an independently owned retailer. We choose and stock our own cabinet program and sell it direct to homeowners, remodellers and trade buyers. We are not affiliated with any cabinet manufacturer or cabinet brand.
What does RTA mean?
Ready to assemble. The cabinet ships flat and goes together where it is installed, which is most of why it costs what it costs: you are not paying to ship air, or to have somebody else put the box together first.
Do you have a showroom I can visit?
No. Orders are delivered to the address on the order. Will-call pickup is available to approved trade accounts only, arranged with our team. The way to see a finish before you buy is a sample door. A full sample door is $19.99 and a quarter door sample is $4.99, shipping included on both, and the sample price is credited toward your cabinet order.
Do you offer financing?
Not yet. There is no finance option at checkout today, so an order is paid in full when you place it. We are not going to advertise one before there is one you can actually use, and we are not going to put a date on it either.
How do I reach a person?
Call (305) 782-7587 or email hello@rtacabinetsplus.com. Somebody who knows the product answers, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm ET.
Design
Is the design service really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation to buy at the end of it. Send wall lengths, window and door positions and where the services come out, and a designer draws the layout, checks every filler and toe kick, and prices it.
What do I get back?
A full layout, a cabinet list and a price. If you need them for a permit or a trade package, CAD files, spec sheets and dimensioned drawings come with it.
What if I do not know how to measure?
Start on the free kitchen design page, which walks the room in the order it is easiest to measure. If it is still unclear, call and a designer will talk you through it while you have the tape in your hand.
Can I change the design after I get it?
Yes. Revisions are part of the service, and your designer works through them with you until the plan matches the room and the budget.
Ordering and delivery
Is there a minimum order?
No, for retail or for trade. One cabinet is an order.
How long will my order take?
Two business days, order to dock. That is the time from your order to the cabinets leaving our building, and it is what we publish because there are more than 25,000 kitchens in stock and stock is replenished daily. Freight time from our dock to your address is the carrier's and depends on where you are.
Can I collect my order?
Orders are delivered to the address on the order, for every buyer. Will-call pickup is available to approved trade accounts only, arranged with our team. A contractor who is not approved yet can apply on the Trade Pros page at /pages/trade-pros.
Do you have trade pricing?
Yes. Trade Pro members buy at a discount off the retail prices shown on this site. Trade Pros start at a 10% discount, then 15% when your purchases in any 30-day period reach $25,000, 20% at $50,000. Upgrades apply the next day and last at least 60 days. Apply with an EIN letter, W-9, business license or resale certificate for fast approval. Trade pricing then applies automatically when you are logged in.
Trash pull-outs
What do I order for a trash pull-out?
Three items, each sold separately: the base cabinet, the wastebasket pull-out and its bins. The 18 inch pull-out goes in an 18 inch base cabinet and the 15 inch pull-out in a 15 inch base cabinet, either the standard base with a drawer over a door or the full height door base. Order the cabinet in the door and finish of the run it sits in. The pull-out and the bins come one way only, not in the cabinet finishes, so they do not need to match the run.
Which bins go in a wastebasket pull-out?
The 18 inch pull-out always holds two bins: two 35 quart bins in an 18 inch standard base cabinet, the one with a drawer over a door, or two 50 quart bins in an 18 inch full height door base cabinet. The 15 inch pull-out holds one bin: one 35 quart bin in a 15 inch standard base cabinet, the one with a drawer over a door, or one 50 quart bin in a 15 inch full height door base cabinet. The pull-out and the bins are sold separately, so add the bins to the same order as the pull-out.
How big is the wastebasket pull-out?
The 18 inch pull-out is 15 inches wide, 12 inches high and 21 inches deep. The 15 inch pull-out is 12 inches wide, 12 inches high and 21 inches deep. Both sizes go together from the same assembly instructions, in the assembly instructions library.
Availability
What happens if something is out of stock?
Your designer or account manager tells you before the order goes in, and will usually offer the nearest size or a substitute that keeps the run intact. Nothing ships partially without you knowing it is partial.
Can I still order a finish that is short?
Usually yes, and we will tell you what is holding it rather than book the whole kitchen behind one cabinet. Where a run can ship in two parts, we will say so before you decide.
How many finishes are there?
Seven: Snow, Alabaster, Quarry, Wood Ridge, Coastal, Caviar and Malachite, but not every finish comes on every door. Sterling comes in Snow, Alabaster, Quarry, Wood Ridge and Coastal, and Studio in Snow, Alabaster, Coastal and Caviar. Mantel, the vanity door style, comes in Snow, Quarry, Wood Ridge, Coastal and Malachite on the Portico furniture vanities, and in Snow, Quarry, Wood Ridge and Coastal on the Veranda floating vanities.
Assembly
How hard is it to put a cabinet together?
The box is 100% tool-free assembly on the licensed SnapCore system: anything wood-to-wood clicks together, no tools, no glue, no screws. A box clicks together in under 2 minutes, about 10x faster than screw-together RTA. Most people build their first one on their own, without a second pair of hands.
So I really need no tools at all?
Not for the box. Anything wood-to-wood clicks together, no tools, no glue, no screws. The only parts that need screws are the metal ones: hinges, drawer glides and pulls, with a screwdriver. Mounting the finished cabinets to the wall takes a drill, the same as any kitchen.
Do I need glue?
No. Not required and not recommended. There is nothing to mix, nothing to clamp and nothing to wipe off a finished face, and you give nothing up by skipping it. Independently tested to KCMA standards. Passed.
Can I mix ready to assemble and pre assembled cabinets?
Yes, in a single order, so you can balance labour against budget however the job needs it.
Claims
Something arrived damaged. What do I do?
Open every box and inspect every item first, then file one claim covering everything affected. Multiple claims against the same order slow the resolution down rather than speeding it up.
Something is missing from my delivery.
Wait 24 hours before filing. Orders are often split across more than one shipment, and the missing item is usually on the next one.
Where do I file?
On the submit a claim page. Include the order number, what is wrong, and photographs of the damage and of the carton it came in.
