About this cabinet

  • Plywood box
  • Solid wood face frame
  • Solid wood dovetail drawer
  • Soft-close, full-extension glides
  • Real paint finish
  • Box goes together by hand
  • Flat packed

A 36 inch base cabinet with three drawers, top to bottom. The 3DB36 has no doors: every inch of the box is drawer storage you pull out to reach.

Size. 36 inches wide, 34 1/2 inches high and 24 inches deep. The standard base cabinet height and depth, so it lines up with the run on both sides.

In the carton. 3 drawers, with the box shipped flat.

Construction. A plywood box with a solid wood face frame and a 5/8 inch solid wood dovetail drawer box for each drawer on soft-close, full-extension glides. The drawer fronts follow the Studio door, a slim-rail shaker.

Finish. Caviar, a real painted near black. Real paint and stain only, never paper, thermofoil or melamine.

Assembly. The box goes together by hand in under 2 minutes on a licensed system, no glue, no nails. Anything wood-to-wood clicks together, no tools, no glue, no screws. The only parts that need screws are the metal ones: hinges, drawer glides and pulls. Fixing it to the wall takes a drill.

Where it goes. Three drawers are the classic stack beside the range: utensils on top, pots and pans below. Order it in Studio Caviar with the rest of the run so the door style and finish match.

Dimensions are read from the cabinet code and the product record. A figure neither states is left out rather than estimated.

The carcass locks together by hand with the SnapCore system, no metal connectors. Anything wood-to-wood clicks together, no tools, no glue, no screws. A box clicks together in under 2 minutes, about 10x faster than traditional RTA architecture. The only parts that need screws are the metal ones: hinges, drawer glides and pulls. The box greatly exceeds industry standards.

Questions about drawer bases

How are the drawers built?

Each drawer is a 5/8 inch solid wood dovetail box on soft-close, full-extension glides, behind a full overlay drawer front, in a plywood box with a solid wood face frame.

What sizes do drawer bases come in?

Two drawer bases are 24, 30 and 36 inches wide, three drawer bases 12 to 36 inches, and four drawer bases 12, 15 and 18 inches. All are 34 1/2 inches tall and 24 inches deep, so they line up with the rest of the base run.

Do the drawers clear a corner?

Plan a filler at an inside corner. It keeps the drawers on one run from hitting the doors, drawers and handles on the other, and it is ripped to width on site.

How long does it take to put together?

A box clicks together on the SnapCore system in under 2 minutes, about 10x faster than traditional RTA cabinets built with metal connectors, dowels and glue. Anything wood-to-wood clicks together, with no tools, no glue and no screws. Only the metal parts need screws: hinges, drawer glides and pulls.

Can I see the finish before I order?

Yes. A full sample door is $19.99 and a quarter door sample is $4.99, shipping included on both, and the sample price is credited toward your cabinet order.
