What to expect from a stained oak kitchen.
- The grain varies. With real wood, no two doors match exactly: some panels show a tighter grain, some a wilder one, and the tone can shift a little from piece to piece. Variations in color and grain, and color change from light and age, are natural characteristics of wood. If you want every door identical, a painted finish will suit you better.
- Stain forgives. A stain is forgiving of the small knocks a busy kitchen collects.
